Jantar Mantar:
The Jantar Mantar is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments, built by Maharaja (King) Jai Singh II at his new capital of Jaipur. It is modeled after the one that he had built for him at the Mughal capital of Delhi. He had constructed a total of five such facilities at different locations, including the ones at Delhi and Jaipur. The observatory consists of fourteen major geometric devices. It is very useful for measuring time, predicting eclipses, tracking stars’ location as the earth orbits around the sun, ascertaining the declinations of planets, and determining the celestial altitudes and related ephemeredes. Each is a fixed and ‘focused’ tool. It has been inscribed on the World Heritage List. The Samrat Yantra, the largest instrument, is 90 feet (27 m) high, its shadow carefully plotted to tell the time of day, its face is angled at 27 degrees, the latitude of Jaipur. The Hindu chhatri (small cupola) on top is used as a platform for announcing eclipses and the arrival of monsoons.
Hawa Mahal:
Hawa Mahal is also called place of winds built by the Poet king Sawai Pratat Singh in 1799 and designed by the Lal Chand Usta in the form of the crown of Krishna, famous Hindu God. It is five story building with 953 small windows (jharokhas), part of city place Jaipur and looks like the corwn of the Krishana. It was made for the Royal Ladies to see the everyday life in the street without being seen as they had to follow the strict purdah (veil).
Amber Fort:
Amber fort: it is located in the Amber about 11 kilometres from Jaipur and was the ancient citadel of the ruling Kachwahas of Amber, before the capital was shifted to Jaipur. It was built by King Man singh-1 in 1592, was entirely completed by his descendant, Jai Singh
Jaigarh Fort:
Jaugarh Fort was built during the period of Raja Sawai jai singh. it is located just 15 km away from the Jaipur, Jaigarh fort is on the top of the hill however Amber fort is on the bottom. Jaigrah was the centre of production for the artillery of the Rajputs. It has worlds largest cannon on the wheels” The Jaivana”.
Nahargarh Fort:
Nahargarh Fort was Built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, it is partially in ruins. It was extended in 1868. It formed a strong deface ring for the city along with Amber Fort and Jaigarh Fort. view of the Jaipur city from the Nahargarh fort is breath taking.
City Palace, Jaipur: The palace was built between 1729 and 1732, by Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. the structure is attributed to great architects namely, Vidyadar Bhattacharya, the chief architect in the royal court. City Palace, Jaipur, which includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and other buildings. It is major tourist attraction in the Jaipur.
